Lycée Trading Card Game

Has anyone else heard of this game? Basically, it's a trading card game using characters from famous visual novels. Even if you haven't played the games, you may have seen them in such anime series as Air, Fate/stay night, Kanon, Soul Link, Shuffle!, ToHeart 2, and Utawarerumono. Anyways, they seem really freakin' sweet and I'm thinking of picking up some packs for my first anime card purchase evar. I'll be sure to scan them if I get them. I'm not quite sure how I'd upload them though, as they cover a very wide range of series (most that weren't made into anime). Attached image is one I found online of Ayu from Kanon.

Lycee Lucky card

I just managed to get a Lucky card! I got one out of a box of booster packs (15 packs in a box). This is the thrid booster box that I have gotten cards from. So, I'd say that they are very rare. I'll scan it for sure for ACO. But I can't decide if I should see about trading it in for the set of 5 or not! <_> HELP!

I also get the Lucky

I also get the Lucky card, what card you get.

I think you do get the card back, but it has a stamp on it. At least, I've seen pictures to that effect.

Lycee scans

Would this be a set that anyone would be interested in seeing scanned? I can scan what I have but I dont know exactly how they are set up. Just really cool cards!

mystavash's picture

of course!

It looks like there is a lot of information on that site (but no pictures, like there are on the aquarian age site). Each series + version number can be considered a set.

There are some old sets that have been replaced with new cards (ex, leaf 1.0 with leaf 1.1). I don't know if you can tell the difference between the two just by looking at the card, you'd have to have the pack.

So as long as you keep which series+version the card came from straight, it should be OK, and for most cards, we can look up that info on the site.

lycee cards

Ok, I know where the ones I have now came from and have the deck boxes.......I have a deck coming and packs coming from two other sets of this set......So, those should be very easy to keep straight......when I get a chance to scan them should I save them under lycee leaf 1.1, for example?

compile lycee info

I'd love to work with some people on compiling information for each of the Lycee sets.

I could sit and go through the Lycee page for a month, but toiling for hours and hours by myself is sad. :)

Basically, we need two things:
Set distribution, how many cards there are of each type

and

a filename format

There are common, uncommon, rare cards, do these need to be included in the file name as well? The advantage is you can see the rarity on a page by page basis. It's not possible to identify them by number otherwise. Well, you could on the top, but it would be more effective to just have an English checklist in a separate file.

We could do something like this:

LYCEE-TM1-CH-006A-Ra.jpg

Look OK?

I am working on the lycee

I am working on the lycee sets at the moment, for the file naming of Lycee - Navel 1.0 I would suggest (after looking around on the official site, I would suggest the shortcuts they use for the different sets):
LYCEE-NV1.0-CH-0716-C/U/R
for the parallel foils:
LYCEE-NV1.0-CH-0716A-Foil

For the Alice soft 1.1 Set:
LYCEE-AL1.1-CH-0716-C/U/R

Type-Moon - TM
Visual Arts - VA
August - AU
Leaf - LF

at the moment I just have two card lists in the discription, one sorted by card type and the other sorted by Common, Uncommen, Rare. It is not really that much, I think. I will try it out and you can take a look at it.^^
I finished the Set discription for Navel 1.0 and Type-Moon 1.0. ^^

Lucky cards

http://www.lycee-tcg.com/card_list_serch.cgi?version=all&rare=L

This shows some of the lucky cards. It should show all of them, but the one that was listed on Wikipedia, while in the database, was not marked 'L' for lucky, so there may be others like that.

Lucky are different from promotional

The one on Wikipedia is of promotional rarity, not lucky. Lucky cards always have the word "Congratulations!!" on them. I can't figure out how those are gotten though. I don't know if they're won, if they're just super unlikely to find, or what. Also, the Yumemi card actually just has promotional artwork: the normal card is uncommon.

I've got it!

It's always like a puzzle. Fun, but frustrating.

Lucky cards are exchanged for a set of five 'Official Illustration' cards, each lucky card has a different set.

No wonder

No wonder those lucky cards end up selling for 10000 yen. The cards are rare to begin with, but the fact that people get rid of them to get the other cards means that eventually those things are going to get very, very, rare. It's still stupid that they never tell you how to get them though. Maybe it's explained somewhere else on the site.

How to get the lucky cards

How to get the lucky cards themselves? I'm sure they just come in the packs...?

But of course! My Japanese

But of course! My Japanese is advanced, even if I don't know what a cicada is. ;)

This page is a collection of frequently asked questions, but it doesn't really tell you much about the cards themselves, just about getting them.

The first question is, is there a certain format or form you have to send in? There isn't, and they give an example (pdf file). The 2nd question is the deadlines (you probably got that). They seem to have extended them because the cards are being reprinted.

3rd, the address for sending in the application... apparently it depends, so they tell you to check the insert.

The remaining questions are: Can I send two lucky cards in one envelope, Do I have to send it by registered mail?, How long will it take?

But nothing much about the cards itself, which seemed odd to me.

Lycee

I have some of these cards already and they are awesome! My problem is trying to figure out how they are numbered to put together my binder. I have a ton of extras! So, I can sell some to you at a really low price. That way you can see the artwork first hand! I really love the cards! Just let me know, ok? Kim C

Sure

Sure, I'm opening to hearing an offer.
I can't access your e-mail so just drop me a line at clandestinepenguin@gmail.com with your details. A quick picture of which cards you have would be nice too, if you can.

email

I just sent you an email. If you look at the AG site, I have cards from the first two charater boxes, flower that blooms at night & noble vermillion & white. I also have cards from the following booster packs: august 1.0, visual arts 1.0, leaf & alicesoft. I have some from the type moon sets on the way. I also have one of the promos: Dark Alice. Do you happen to know if there are only 5 promos? They list 5 but I don't know how to check that out!

List of promos

A list of the promos can be found on the official website here. Of course, it's in Japanese, but can't expect too much English press on the game. Interesting to note that Dark Alice seems to be the only one of those five that's a pure promo card. The other four are normal cards but have special promo art (denoted by the 'B' at the end of their card numbers). I suppose that explains why Yumemi looks so official looking when all of the art is supposed to be by fans.

Anyways, I've got to go to my local used video game store to pick up a few things before it gets too late (collecting video games is my main hobby). Though they have a little section for anime cards too so maybe I'll see what they've got there. I'll check out your cards when I get back.

mystavash's picture

interesting!

Yet complicated.

http://project-core.ocnk.net/product/5254

http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m39769139

Same number, first one is C, 2nd is B, different art, the 2nd is marked not for sale and P in the corner for promo.

Can you exchange the lucky cards for something? On the store site, there's a lucky card that's being sold cheaply, and it's been stamped 'Exchange Completed'.

How do you know when cards have different versions?

Did you find out anymore

Did you find out anymore about the misterious 'A', 'B' and 'C'(and also 'D','Y','+') Versions?
I saw that the foil parallel cards do have a 'A' after the card number, so they seem to be parallel of the regular cards.

But what are the B and C cards about? I saw Promo cards with a 'B' after the number, so they may be parallel Promo cards or something.

Thats really confusing.

Do you know if the mail away cards have numbers, too?

Confusing forums.

These forums are kinda confusing o_O New posts just pop up all throughout the thread. Luckily they don't get too long, but it's still disconcerting.

Anyways, yeah, it's kinda strange. That C version doesn't seem to have a rarity at all...

See my other post about lucky cards. I think there's something about exchanging, but I can't figure out what you're exchanging for or how they're gotten.

mystavash's picture

Ah, that's just how they

Ah, that's just how they are. You can change the comment settings, but the default is they indent below the comment you are replying to, instead of floating to the bottom, as you would see in a 'flat' forum.

There is an alternative module, but since you can change the settings to your own preference, I think that's a good compromise. Sorry if there's any confusion!
