Many official sites explicitly forbid the distribution of their images, so I try to avoid using them, if I can.
However, websites shut down, card sets go out of production, the information disappears. We need that information. But we don't always have time to process it (=put it on ACO properly).
I am thinking of two things. 1) a private admin only collection of images collected, strictly for information purposes, from Yahoo Japan auctions, from publisher websites, from online stores. This will not be available to anyone else, no matter how much you ask! :) Each image will be sourced, both in the filename and the description.
I think that's OK, it's basically an online version of my secret stockpile, but extremely limited.
More controversial: Put images from OFFICIAL websites ONLY on ACO, link back to the original site, clearly state copyright, put the company name in the file name. Remove these images when we get better scans or info.
I've been reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use, and while the scans may be a bit iffy (probably OK, unless someone starts taking the large scans and makes fakes. Which is actually a pretty big concern, which one reason you have to REGISTER to see the big scans. ;p), using the manufacturer images is probably OK.
I'd love to hear feedback from members and admins about this.
This website is run off servers in the US, and although I live in Japan, I'm from the US, so ACO is pretty much under US law.

Well, that is what I have on my PC already, I do not think we need a section on aco for that, we can just send them by mail when we are looking for something specific, it would just cost us a lot of time. I think it would be useful to have forum topics where we can post Set discriptions before uploading them, so other admins or users can take a look at them and add what they know, like the one for Pretty Cure.
But what about when I want
But what about when I want to know something that is hidden on your computer, but I don't know it's hidden on your computer?
I run across a LOT of information that I can't deal with right away, and I would like a place to put it where no one would get mad at me. ;p
For example, the bandai candy site has information going back 20 years.
I saw a store site that had great info on all those promo cards that come out through various stores, but I had no place to put that information.
As for forum topics, there was already a place to submit set info, and there's nothing stopping you from continuing to use it like you use it with pretty cure.

Done.
The new admin only album in the Gallery does this. Unfortunately, right now it has a permissions problem, so the pics aren't displaying. Should be fixed soon.

Since no one else can see the album, you can upload those too. Please add a note about what the picture is about, and UNKNOWN for the summary.
Link to the Admin only album. don't click if you're not an admin! :)
